Justice System to blame for Jaycee's Kidnapping?

By now everyone is aware of the horrifying story of the 1991 kidnapping, torture, rape, and abuse of Jaycee Durgan.  This poor girl was held captive for 18 years before being discovered (after she walked into a police station) recently.  Many news outlets are carrying the horrifying story, but here's one line that CNN.com reported that disturbed me:

"Garrido served 11 years of a 50-year sentence in Levenworth, Kansas." -- http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/08/28/california.missing.girl.blog/index.html

This piece of crap Garrido was tried and convicted for a past rape case!  He asked a woman for a ride, and when she stoppe the car, he handcuffed her, tied her up, and drove her to a storage unit in Reno, Nevada where he raped her.  CNN reports that Garrido said it was the victim's fault for being 'attractive.'  He was then 25, and that should have been the last bit of freedom this SOB [had to edit this, b/c apparently Townhall.com censors certain words] ever saw.  He would still be in prison, not scheduled to be released until 2027 at the age of 75.  Instead, a young woman has had her life forever disrupted, a family lost a child, and everyone surrounding little Jaycee has been victimized in a way that I can never imagine.

My question is simple:  Who let Garrido walk?  Who is reponsible for the decision to grant parole?  Find that person, or group of people, and investigate their decision, then summarily fire them if they are still employed by the agency responsible.  Had they had the common decency to keep a monster behind bars, none of this would have ever happened.

What the hell is wrong with this country when our government investigates people for speaking out against socialist politics at town halls, but we can't keep a monster like Garrido in prison?  Why do we fill our jails to capacity with worthless potheads, when violent meth addicts are shooting little old ladies in the streets to steal a couple of dollars for their next fix?  If our government, and our justice system seems so inadequate, and so incompetent compared to the tasks at hand, it's because they are. They are incompetent, and they hide behind a myriad of bureaucracy hoping you won't know any better.  You'd better start paying attention to your local and state governments, people.  Vote in a governor who will fire a parole board for this kind of act, and one who will instantly pardon a father who retaliates against the pepetrators of such a crime.  That's the governor for me!

The question with a convict like Garrido is not whether or not he's learned a lesson and deserves parole, but whether he's worth the trouble to imprison for the rest of his natural life, or whether to simply have him executed for heinous crimes.  The questions about who let Garrido go should not go unanswered.  Don't let the government delay, and dawdle until the next news story hits the cycle.  Make them answer!  I'm not an attorney, so I don't know about the validity of this...but Jaycee's family should consider a serious lawsuit against the government for the irreparable pain and suffering the former inmate (by all rights an inmate who should still be in prison) caused.

It's just common sense.

Stop talking...start doing

In case you haven't heard, the President wants emergency powers to control the internet (seriously, just click the latest Drudge headlines).  The President wants to control your pay.  He wants to control your health, and he wants to control you, all in the name of the common good.

After the American people spoke up, and were called 'astroturf,' racists, and kkk-members, all for voicing a Conservative opinion in public forums, the liberal government was stymied...but only for a second.  Rest assured, there will be no debate when it comes to taking over every aspect of your lives for the next year.  Democrats have gained firm ground, and they will stop at nothing to enact as much long-lasting legislation as they can.

We've been drowning in a sea of debt for decades in this country, since before my generation was even born, and all the Republicans have been able to do is describe the water.  The Democrats, meanwhile, pray for rain, and turn the hoses on us.

Enough is enough.

It's time someone used R-word, and it's high-time we stop being complacent while our children are being taken advantage of with debt simply because they won't be able to vote for 15 or more years.

It's time to stop talking about things, and stop listening to the news media about what is right and wrong.

It's time to act, and transfer power back to the American people in a way that this government has NEVER seen before.

Revolution is needed, and it will start in the primaries.

Conservative friends and neighbors, the liberals would have everyone believe that they stand for new ideas, while we have old ones.  The very name "Conservative" is thought to conjure up images of old and stubborn ideologies.  Well, let me tell you what Conservative really means.  It means we will conserve our freedom.  It means we want to try something that is only considered radical in the current era of socialist reform, but it is something that was the most basic idea to our founders.  It is the idea that you and I can control our own destiny, by making choices and taking responsibility.

So as the primaries approach us in 2010, don't just simply re-elect the incumbents who have an R by their name, but seriously look at what they stand for.  Ask them where they stand.  Ask them if they will be bold enough to enact legislation that ends the IRS, that effectively cripples the federal juggernaut that has become our keeper.  If they disagree, refuse to answer, or even hesitate to respond, then your choice is clear!  Find someone else, or run for the office yourself.  That's the Revolution we're needing in this country.

The Dam Government!

Freedom is the lifeblood of our nation's existence.  We can no sooner do without freedom than we could without water, if we expect to survive as the greatest nation this planet has ever seen.  Our economy has cycles, this isn't news.  Whether the bulls or the bears are running through Wall Street, we're always just a few quarters from great gains, but it never stops the politicians from trying to ride a wave of public ignorance about the issues into what all politicians crave the most (successive terms in office).

The government has now become the Hoover Dam of our Republic, controlling the freedom (represented by the water) in such a way that the people have become all but too complacent in the face of obvious oppression.  The water has to flow to the people starving from consecutive seasons of drought, yet we have a government that thinks the solution is to slow the flow to a mere trickle...and when they are honest, they will slip up and admit that they eventually intend to turn off all of the water.  That way, rather than be independent, and be able to utilize the God-given resources that this country has, we'll have to pull up stakes, and head up river, to the government reservoir.

President Obama, Speaker Pelosi, Majority Leader Reid, and the Democratic party have made no bones about it:  they intend to control the capital of our economy and your health care.  If they can control those things, they can control you.

Republicans were incompetent during their tenure in office.  We had a Republican President, Senate, and House, and yet there is still an IRS?!  We didn't pass the FairTax?!  Seriously, what is the point of having "conservatives" in power if we can't act boldly?  Democrats are far worse than incompetent...they are determined to take control of our lives.

It seems that the reasonable American thinker is stuck between a rock and a hard place, but there are some signs of hope in the recent townhall meeting protests.  The answer to our dilemma will come in the primaries for the 2010 mid-term elections.  That is when we must focus, pay close attention, and put in people with the ability to act boldly!  Enough of the equivocating, and the fake frowns of concern from our elected leaders!  Let's move forward by electing people in the primaries to compete for office (this goes for incompetent Republican incumbents) who will:

1) support eliminating the IRS (just like that, get rid of the damn thing)
2) open up the free markets by eliminating government takeovers of corporations
3) support TERM LIMITS on Congress...some people are just around too long and we have more important things to focus on in this country than who is the Chairman of what committee
4) reduce the government's scope to the Constitutional limits set forth by our founders

Those simple steps are a starting point, but we have to be prepared to act.  Open the flood gates and let freedom wash over us once again!

If you're a GA resident, get out there and place your vote for Sen. Chambliss. We still don't know the status of Minnesota, but rest assured, putting Chambliss in office can either signal the first shot of the Conservative revolution, or possibly complete the 60 vote majority Democrats have been hoping for.

Knowing a little something about the state of Georgia, I will tell you that I'm confident in a Chambliss victory. Democrats are still high on the Obama euphoria, and they don't have much to get out and vote for. Republicans, on the other hand, can at least deflate the tires of the Obama express, slowing it down enough for us to make a few points while we get railroaded in the legislature. A filibuster-proof 60 vote majority in the Senate is simply dangerous. I believe a landslide victory by Chambliss (55-45%) will still prove to be a small victory for Conservatives on the national scale, but it will be the first of many to come.

Victory or Death, and the Defense of George W. Bush

www.offeringcommonsense.blogspot.com

During my youth, upon reading the historical accounts of the horrible treatment of our Vietnam veterans at the hands of "peace" activists, and hearing such words like "babykiller," I was both shocked and relieved. Shocked that Americans would go so far from our national heritage, and our rich traditions of self-reliance, and love of God, and pride in our nation that they would turn against the gatekeepers of our very freedoms, the freedoms it takes to be able to spew such hatred; relieved at the thought that these troubled times were so long ago...before I was even born.

As a young Senior Airman stationed at the Pentagon on 9/11, I got a front seat view to pure evil. I was shocked and relieved. Shocked at the death, devastation, and pure hatred coming from a region of the world that we had only sought to help (Afghanistan 1979, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait 1991, Kosovo 1998, etc). I was relieved that we had a courageous leader in President Bush who would stop at nothing to protect us, and allow those of us in uniform the chance to protect the nation. It was impossible to count the sheer number of American flags one would pass on any highway in this country. Patriotism was reborn, and we were as one in our struggle against the terrorists who would seek to destroy us. It is with great regret that I have come to realize that much of our supposed patriotism was due in large part to the fact that 9/11 happened during an odd-numbered year. Had it been an election year, all hell would have broken loose on the airwaves as we watched leaders squabble over who was responsible for the attacks.

President Bush initially did not show any indication of going beyond the Clinton Doctrine of treating terrorism like street crimes, only to be investigated after the fact with televised court trials. Thankfully he was just biding his time, and carefully assembling the facts. In October we struck back, and we've been striking back ever since. Not since that fateful day have we been attacked, and we owe not only a debt of gratitude to the US Military, but to President Bush. He had the courage of conviction to know that he would only be permitted the smallest of retaliatory military strikes by the world opinion polls, and by our own home-grown liberal mainstream media.

Enter Saddam Hussein. It's hardly worth mentioning that we have actually found uranium in Iraq, because liberals are already against President Bush, and therefore John McCain. This dictator won an "election" by 100% of the vote, something not seen since the first polls came out calling for Sen. Obama's victory/coronation. He was a murdering thug dictator who bombed almost every neighbor his country had (Iran, Israel, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia). Reports have shown that he WANTED us to believe that he had WMD, and he thought us cowards and nothing more than "paper tigers" (to use a terrorist term).

He thought wrong. Despite international and domestic pressure opposing crossing borders to go after not only the terrorists but their weapons, President Bush LEAD the nation. Leadership is not about polls, surveys, or news media commentary. It's about doing what's necessary and what's right for the causes of freedom and tranquility.

President Bush dealt with the financial crises, dot-com busts, corporate scandals, major terrorist attacks, and a hostile media hell-bent on Democrats taking control of government. We're safe. Most of us are employed (at a meager 95% of the country, according to media outlets, I might add), and we've weathered some of the stormiest seasons our nation has ever faced. I think it's high time some people quit criticizing the President for a dangling participle or two, and start recognizing the important issues of our time.

It's time Americans wake up and become the warriors that Bush became on 9/12/01. "A nation that can prefer disgrace to danger is prepared for a master...and deserves one." -- Alexander Hamilton.

Drown out the sounds of "Bush lied" with the sounds of "Victory or Death!" It's that serious.

Democratic Reprisal in Obama Auntie Case!

www.offeringcommonsense.blogspot.com

This is almost unbelievable, except that it's from the Democratic party. Rep. Conyers (D-MI) is now calling for a full investigation as to who leaked the story about an illegal immigrant living in a Boston slum. This woman is here ILLEGALLY, and she IGNORED A JUDGE'S ORDER TO LEAVE for over 4 years.

Let me explain how this works. The people elect a government (legislature and executive branches). The legislature thinks crap up; that's their job, just sit there and think stuff up to become laws. Once a bill is passed (with both houses agreeing, the President signing or being overruled by a 2/3 Congressional vote, and the judicial branch finding no unconstitutional portions of the law) the executive branch EXECUTES the law. What Rep. Conyers needs to be investigating is why THE LAW WAS NOT EXECUTED!

We've seen example after example of how leftwingers and liberal elitists have tried to curb free speech. Whether it's kicking conservative commentators off of the Obama plane, attacking everyday citizens publicly on the Today Show for asking hard questions, attempting to institute a "Fairness" Doctrine that requires us to have the correct opinions, or by banning certain news stations from interviews from Great Leader and his comrades, the Democrats are on the wrong end of the Constitution. At every turn their followers (worshipers?) who faint at the mere site of Great Leader demonstrate the need to repeal the 17th Amendment.

To all of my liberal friends: You may not like the Conservative ideology, but at least you are still free to argue the point. Your comrades in training are taking us down a road to complete government control over every aspect of our lives. The Nazis didn't take over Germany with a sweeping executive order and gunfire. They did it with subtlety under the radar of public opinion. Curbing speech, reducing the right to bear arms, and blatantly attacking citizens who speak out against injustices is only the first step. The slippery slope of this ideology will come back to haunt us, if we don't take a stand now.

Does it make sense for a Congressman to want to attack a federal agent for speaking the truth? He did not slander this woman, or insinuate that Sen. Obama has performed some illegal act. He pointed out the truth that government FAILED TO EXECUTE THE LAW. Rep. Conyer's childish and blatantly political behavior represents the elite attitude of liberal ideology (i.e., the state cannot tolerate insolence from the masses).
